2 tsp. onion powder
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. vegan bacon seasoning or hickory smoke flavoring
1 T. cumin
1/4 c. yeast flakes
1/4 C. your favorite jarred vinegar-free salsa (or homemade)
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
1 12 oz. can black beans
4 c. rolled oats
4 c. water
Mix all ingredients except rolled oats and black beans in a large pot. Stir well. Bring to a slow boil over medium low heat. Stir in rolled oats and black beans; immediately remove from heat. Cover and set aside to cool.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Shape oat mixture into 3-inch patties and place on oiled or lecithin covered baking sheets. (Tip: Use a Saran wrap lined mason jar lid or jar top to form the patties!) Bake for 15 minutes on each side. Make approximately 20 burgers. These freeze well, so make up a bunch for a hurried day!
